Travel Trailer Rescue
After being confiscated by animal control, these animals are now safe in our care. Your donation will provide the medical care, food, and compassion they need on their road to recovery.
17 dogs and16 cats confiscated from a home by Botetourt and Roanoke Animal Control are now in our care. We know they had all recently traveled from Texas together in a large trailer, but beyond that, we don't know much about the situation.
As each animal jumped off the animal control vehicles, they were understandably shy but incredibly trusting. Our veterinary team immediately began triaging those in the most urgent need. They're all dehydrated, and one little Dachshund received immediate X-rays and bloodwork after arriving with concerning pain in her spine and legs. Over the coming days, each animal will receive a full veterinary exam to understand their conditions further.
This is an active investigation and we are doing our part to assist law enforcement. We don't yet know how long these 33 animals will remain in our care, but we do know they deserve comfort, compassion, and the chance to heal in the meantime.
If you're able, please consider making a donation to help provide medical care, food, and daily support for these animals, as well as the additional staffing needed to care for them alongside all of the pets already at our Adoption Center. Every gift will make an immediate difference in their lives.
We'll continue to share updates as these animals settle in and begin their journey toward brighter days.
